Mind is Like Kaleidoscope

Mind is like a kaleidoscope. Too many colours, too many strings, events, feelings, emotions, impressions, thoughts, judgements, opinions, choices, suppression, oppression, depression, conditioning, too much going at the same place. Did we learn the importance of “focus” when we were small? But as we grow big, the focus is replaced by the bogus.

On the path to the higher truth, the words “focus” and “discipline” are very important for a spiritual traveller to understand and follow. Discipline is not just in the body, the cycle; it is also of the mind, the heart. When we focus, we focus with our mind and body, we put our heart into something but with discipline, we start believing that it is only of the body. You need to put your mind away, remain in awareness, acceptance, truth, with all the highest virtues. Satyamev Jayate, Satyam Shivam Sundarambecause with truth comes the Absolute, the ultimate reality, you cannot manipulate truth, it’s created, you just need to preserve it. Another special thing when you walk with the highest virtues and with truth that you have no thoughts, no memories which are slowly weaving another world within you. If this world of thoughts doesn’t exist within you, then the empty space can become a possibility of a greater kind, a eureka of some kind. It can be a discovery, a new theory or The Almighty. But here we are, creating an Almighty of ourselves, this is me, I am this, controller of so many events but disease and death.  If torn away from our thoughts, we are nothing, nobody, it gets difficult to introduce myself to a normal man. I am a …Hindu, Muslim…no…my name is……that is what people call me….I deal in…that’s what I do, not who I am. So the sages and seers ultimate, all time question “ Who Am I “ and if you are taken into disciple hood, you will be deprived of everything, ego, emotions, thoughts, then what is left of you? But that is the reality.  In this moment, deprived of the thoughts or reference to the past or future, without a mind intervening, you are nobody, your guilt, hatred, greed, all things artificial, all vices are lost. That’s the beauty of living in NOW, in this moment which yogis and rishis and sages have been propounding upon.  Delete and erase the past and there is no war, no violence, no nuclear weapons, no armies. Without this mind, meditation can also happen which can open our inner eyes to a whole new world , a world of reality and acceptance where I know who I am and that is why there is no ego, no anger, no hatred.

The human mind is split into two hemispheres, left and right, so logical and creative both are parts. Duality is in our very mind set such that one thing leads to another or one clashes with another. There is no singular one or what we call oneness. Sometimes when we feel our mind is one and not split, we define it as a tussle between the mind and the heart when it might just be a simple case of mind one versus mind two. A little more and the result is a nervous disorder, breakdown, depression, anger, nervousness, stress, schizophrenia, split personality and so on. But most of us are strong enough or are habitual to the duality so much so that when there is a clear path, we question it. The entire human race is conditioned such that we question the positive but accept the negative at once. That someone is a criminal is acceptable but if he is a saint, there are a thousand questions, remarks and probing. The greatest problem is the middle path where nobody wants to fall into complete black or white, where grey is safe. He who is grey will never know any other path for he feels he is a great blend. It is a grey mind that never lets the being realise his true strengths and weaknesses and in an entrance exam, when asked the same, we create answers for our strengths and weaknesses. It is there within, the mind can come out with it very fast but the same mind stops it, wants to create even strength out of weakness so that we clear the entrance exam. But there is a much larger entrance to clear in life which does not get any near with our mind. Shed this mind and you reach the space of silence where nature takes over, where there is no want, no desire for it is only the mind that ignites all desire. A child below five is considered to be God’s child only because he is untouched by the mud of the world which starts collecting in the mind. That is also why it is believed that a child’s mind till five is extremely ripe to grasp any knowledge for as we grow, our minds rust while we keep amassing accolades and achievements and the heart is thrown out of the window to give place to the manipulative mind that wants to make all correct moves and that is where life becomes a game of chess. When we lose and die in whose hands is in nobody’s control.

Thoughts create myths and a thoughtless mind discovers reality. Drop the mind and in that silence, what blooms and blossoms is a Buddha, a Nanak, a Jesus, a Kabir, a Mahavira.

AUM
